SEASON BASED TRAINING FOR FOUNDATIONAL HEALTH

At Advanced Vitality we take a Seasonal approach to health and well living.

Summer is the season for cleansing. The heat of the season helps relax connective tissues and stored toxins are easier to access. In summer we make sure to assist the body by giving time with exercises that help to circulate the blood and give the liver and kidneys a better chance to break down and filter toxins. Cooling and cleansing foods are encouraged. Local and seasonal foods are the choice for every season. We limit excessive intensity so as to not over-heat the body. The focus is more on integrating movement and body awareness through movement and exercises that stretch and strengthen at the same time.

Autumn is the season for toning. So we look to focus on reducing inflammation and incorporating different types of exercises and movement to initiate muscle consolidation and release of excess following from the cleansing from the summer months. As the trees lose their leaves, we are looking at shedding unnecessary weight and releasing unnecessary tension.

Winter is for strengthening. So we focus a little more on building muscle strength. The gains from adding more resistance is stronger bones and connective tissue. This gives better stability without sacrificing range of motion. Building heat within the body helps maintain metabolic activity during the day and improves circulation. Say goodbye to painfully cold hands and feet.

Spring is the season for energizing. So we add more dynamic movements. This draws on the strength created during winter and assists the body to cope with the work involved during the calving season.It is designed to reduce injury risk and has the added bonus of speeding recovery when necessary.
