ANTI GRAVITY
AntiGravity Fitness is a fitness company founded by Christopher Harrison in 2007. It is a specialised hybrid of aerial fitness techniques that combine silk hammocks with yoga practices, Pilates, ballet barre exercises, and traditional strength training techniques, all into different exercise curriculums.

Think ‘Cirque du Soleil’ for gym-goers and yoga buffs, it’s also incredibly
fun. Apart from being a major stress-buster due to its high fun quotient, there are some serious health benefits associated with AntiGravity Yoga. “Anyone that has back issues should be doing this class,” says Bill Davis, director of group fitness for The Athletic Club in Brantford, Ontario. “It’s better than an inversion table. It gives you the chance to hang freely, allowing your spine to lengthen. AntiGravity can help to increase strength and flexibility, as well as bring you greater awareness of your body. It’s a real mind-body experience. It really does help in other areas of our lives, too. The core work is a huge benefit for running and I’ve found that I can recover faster’’.

fitness and wellness exercise has recently taken New York by storm. It IS the latest and greatest thing in exercise. We don’t like to call it exercise though because it is so much fun that you don’t realise you are exercising!!!
In your first class, you will learn to give your weight to the Harrison Antigravity hammock
and become fa
miliar with the movements. You will have fun and start experiencing your body in new
ways, creating more awareness and strength. Subsequent classes bring more and more benefits as your co
nfidence quickly grows.
What to wear: this is important to the comfort of this practice. A close fitting top with sleeves, and leggings or soft close fitting trousers with no metal or zips or adornments that might catch on the fabric of the hammock. Watches and jewellery that can snag the fabric must also be removed and we provide lockers for you to keep things as safe as possible. Cell phones must be silenced -obviously-We have space for 10 people per class so it is best if you book and pay in advance to secure your space.
